A life settlement advisor wanted a predictable way to book appointments with people over 70 who had unwanted life insurance policies worth more than $100,000. The opportunity was clear, but the campaign had to work around several practical constraints before it could produce consistent appointment flow.
Advisor Systems helped the advisor build an automated appointment-generation system using Facebook and Instagram ads, a pre-qualification form, an educational video sales letter, and direct calendar booking. Since launch, the campaign generated 56 scheduled appointments, with a Facebook cost per lead of $23.99 and a cost per booked appointment of under $40.

The Problem: A Specific Audience Without the Usual Targeting Options
The advisor wanted to reach people over the age of 70 who had an unwanted life insurance policy with a value above $100,000. That created an immediate advertising challenge because Facebook’s financial-services rules restrict direct age targeting. Many advertisers assume that this prevents campaigns from reaching an older audience effectively.
The campaign also had to work without several common trust assets. The advisor did not have a website, testimonials, or much online social proof. The advisor also did not want to appear on camera, which meant the funnel needed to build trust through clear messaging, education, qualification, and a simple booking process rather than relying on the advisor’s personal video presence.
The advisor wanted a turnkey system where qualified prospects could book directly on the calendar. Instead of manually chasing every new lead, the advisor needed appointments to arrive with enough context that the next step was simply to call the prospect at the scheduled time.
The Solution: Build an Automated Appointment Machine
The system was designed to generate appointments, not just names and email addresses. Each step had a specific role: attract the right audience, pre-qualify the prospect, educate them on life settlements, and allow interested prospects to book a call directly.
Facebook and Instagram Ads
Image and video ads introduced the life settlement message to people who were likely to have unwanted life insurance policies.
Messaging-Based Audience Filtering
The ads called out the intended audience, such as people over 70 with unwanted life insurance policies, so the algorithm could learn from the people who clicked and converted.
Pre-Qualification Form
The landing page collected basic information and confirmed whether the prospect was the right fit before sending positive conversion data back to Facebook.
Video Sales Letter
An educational video explained how a life settlement works and built trust before asking the prospect to schedule a call.
Calendar Booking
Qualified prospects could book a time through Calendly, giving the advisor scheduled conversations instead of unqualified lead lists.
Platform Testing
Facebook and TikTok were both tested, but the campaign budget was moved back to Facebook after TikTok’s cost per lead was significantly higher.
How the Campaign Reached People Over 70 Without Direct Age Targeting
The campaign did not depend on manually selecting an age range inside Facebook’s targeting settings. Instead, the ads used clear, specific messaging that identified exactly who the offer was for. When an ad speaks directly to people over 70 with an unwanted life insurance policy, the wrong people are less likely to engage, while the right people are more likely to click, opt in, and continue through the funnel.
That behavior gave Facebook’s algorithm better data. Prospects who completed the pre-qualification step and advanced through the funnel sent a positive signal back to Facebook. Over time, the platform could use that conversion data to find more people who looked like the prospects who were already responding.
This was especially important because the campaign needed qualified appointments, not broad traffic. The pre-qualification form helped filter out people who were not a fit, while the video sales letter educated qualified prospects before they booked a call.
The Ad Strategy: Test Image Ads, Video Ads, Facebook, and TikTok
Advisor Systems tested both image ads and video ads on Facebook and Instagram. The creative formats performed in a similar range, with video ads producing leads at about $17 per lead and image ads producing leads at about $19 per lead. Because both formats were working, the campaign kept both running.
TikTok was also tested, but the data did not justify continuing. After about $500 in TikTok spend, the cost per lead was roughly four times higher than Facebook. In this case, the audience was older than the audience TikTok typically reaches most efficiently, so the campaign paused TikTok and focused the remaining budget on Facebook and Instagram through Meta.
The Results: 56 Appointments Scheduled Since Launch
The Facebook Ads Manager screenshot showed a cost per lead of $23.99, which put lead costs under $25. More importantly, the campaign generated booked appointments at under $40 per appointment.
The advisor’s calendar showed strong appointment flow after launch. At the time of recording, the campaign had produced 56 appointments scheduled in total. The advisor had 7 appointments in the most recent seven-day period, 13 appointments in the seven days before that, and already had 6 appointments scheduled for the following week.

The Main Takeaway
This case study shows why the right funnel can matter more than direct demographic targeting. The campaign reached a very specific life settlement audience by using precise ad messaging, qualification logic, conversion data, and a booking flow that helped Facebook identify the right prospects over time.
It also shows why appointment cost is often a more useful metric than lead cost alone. A $23.99 lead is valuable only if the system can turn that interest into scheduled conversations. By combining ads with pre-qualification, education, and direct calendar booking, the advisor generated 56 scheduled appointments at under $40 per booked appointment.
